Embru
Embru has been manufacturing furniture for schools, care homes, offices and the home since 1904 in Rüti. In the 1930s, the company became a leading Swiss manufacturer of modern tubular steel furniture, producing designs by Marcel Breuer, amongst others, whose Bauhaus furniture had a significant influence on industrial furniture production. Embru remains particularly well known today for the «Altorfer Spaghetti Chairs» by Huldreich Altorfer from 1948: garden furniture made from hot-dip galvanised round steel tubing and coloured PVC webbing, which is handcrafted and has been used for decades on Swiss terraces, balconies and in outdoor spaces.
