Living above the rooftops

A penthouse triplex in Lausanne is transformed into a home full of warmth and clarity through bespoke furnishings, oak, light and iconic design.

High above the rooftops of Lausanne, a home has been created that strikes a new balance between architecture and comfort. The penthouse triplex impresses with its sculptural geometry, light-filled rooms and distinctive volumes. It was precisely this architecture that placed high demands on the interior design. The complex spatial structure became the starting point for the project. Through close collaboration between the architect, the client and the project manager, teo jakob developed an interior design concept that highlights the quality of the existing spaces. The focus was on the optimal use of space, the deliberate handling of sloping lines, and the staging of light and materials.

The selected designer furniture provides a soft contrast to the angular geometry of the penthouse triplex. Iconic pieces with rounded, flowing forms create a sense of cosiness and lend the rooms an inviting lightness. Inside and outside engage in a constant dialogue. The light alters the effect of the materials throughout the day, making the home appear fresh and new time and again.

“The unique geometry of this penthouse triplex was not a constraint, but the project’s greatest strength. Our aim was to bring out the distinctive features of the architecture. With bespoke solutions, warm materials and selected design pieces, we have created a home that feels clear, vibrant and very personal.”
