Zurich Flat in Historic Building

A coherent colour and material concept brings spatial structure and architecture into harmony. White and black furniture responds precisely to warm wood tones, creating a calm living atmosphere.

The central space of this raised ground-floor flat, built in 1895, connects the rooms and, with the rotating «Amoenus» ottoman, designed in 2006 by Antonio Citterio for Flexform, it becomes a tranquil focal point. Precisely placed furniture and co-ordinated materials carry the floor plan forward, showcasing the architectural structure in a new light.

In the dining room, guests take their seats on a Swiss design classic: the «Diva» upholstered chair, created in 1956 by several designers for horgenglarus, stands for the upholstery expertise and craftsmanship of the Swiss manufacturer.

The «Lounge Chair», designed in 1956 by Charles & Ray Eames for Vitra, is a re-interpretation of the classic club chair. Three moulded plywood shells with leather upholstery rest on a rotatable aluminium base. It is complemented here by the «LTR» side table (1950).

The «Salt» lamp, designed in 2023 by Tobias Grau, is barely larger than a water bottle and is reminiscent of Arne Jacobsen’s salt and pepper shakers. With stepless dimmer and «Sunset Dimming», it offers up to 150 hours of portable, soothing light.

The «Egg» chair, designed in 1958 by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen, is considered the European response to the «Lounge Chair» by Charles and Ray Eames. To this day, the model is still handcrafted in leather or fabric.

The «Borea» armchair, designed in 2021 by Piero Lissoni, brings the comfort of Eames and Arne Jacobsen into the present: Its curved aluminium frame supports generous cushions as a light supporting structure. It is complemented by the «9» cylindrical side table, designed in 2009 for Cassina.
