Church Seating for Geissberg, Lotzwil and Muri

For three Reformed Churches, teo jakob, in collaboration with schindlersalmerón, developed flexible seating solutions: mobile short benches and ergonomic stackable chairs that meet liturgical requirements and allow for versatile use.

The renovations of the church seating in the Geissberg (Langenthal), Lotzwil and Muri churches were carried out in collaboration with teo jakob and the Zurich-based furniture manufacturer schindlersalmerón. Mobile wooden benches with storage, stackable chairs with slightly inclined seating surfaces and recessed rear legs, as well as a stacking trolley, maintain clear structure in the historic spaces while allowing for flexible use.

The mobile four-seater benches by schindlersalmerón replace the previously fixed long benches. The construction is based on an existing chair design, is light enough to be portable and incorporates compartments for hymnals in the rear panels.

In Muri near Bern, stackable chairs were developed featuring a subtly recessed seating surface to make standing up easier. A trolley enables space-saving storage and easy transport of up to 16 chairs.
