Inspiring Interiors for Education

For the Burghalde Secondary School Centre in Baden, teo jakob developed a furnishing concept that fosters interaction, learning and comfort. In close collaboration with the architects, an inspiring interior design was created for vibrant daily life at the school.

The Burghalde Secondary School Centre in Baden links a building from the 1930s with two modern additions and accommodates around 1,000 students. Already during the planning stage, teo jakob developed a furnishing concept for the canteen, media library, as well as the common and administrative areas, that combines functionality with comfort. Furniture from Hay, Muuto, Embru, Vitra and Paola Lenti supports flexible usage, robustness and interaction during everyday scholastic life.

The «Hassenpflug» chair, designed by Gustav Hassenpflug (1896–1977) for Embru, meets the «Belleville» table, designed by Ronan (born in 1971) & Erwan Bouroullec (born in 1976) for Vitra. This provides an immaculate combination of Swiss design history and contemporary design language.

The classic «Hassenpflug» chair, designed by Gustav Hassenpflug (1896–1977) for Embru, is combined with the «Belleville» table, designed by Ronan (born in 1971) & Erwan Bouroullec (born in 1976). The minimalist design supports flexible use of the space.

The «DLM» side table, designed by Thomas Bentzen (born in 1975) for Hay, impresses with its mobile functionality and clear form. A versatile piece of furniture for a range of uses.

«We wanted to create spaces that equally support learning, interaction and comfort. Furniture that is flexible, creates a sense of orientation and naturally supports everyday life at school.»
