Design as a Calling Card

For the residence of the Swiss Embassy in Tel Aviv, an interior has been created that blends modern design classics with contemporary elegance and places new emphasis on the prestigious spaces.

Selected furniture by Arne Jacobsen, Eero Saarinen, USM and Richard Schultz structures the reception and garden areas. In combination with lighting by Max Ingrand and Sebastian Wrong, a subtly elegant environment is created that unites the diplomatic context and international design history.

The carefully chosen colours and materials tell their own story and reflect the climate, culture and lifestyle, as is typical of international projects by teo jakob.

The USM Haller furniture serves as a distinct opening statement in the entrance area and epitomises functional elegance in Swiss design. It is complemented by the «Spun Light» table lamp, designed in 2003 by Sebastian Wrong for Flos.

The «Swan Chair», designed by Arne Jacobsen, epitomises the organic design language characteristic of Danish modernism. The «Fontana» table lamp, designed by Max Ingrand, and the Saarinen side table, designed by Eero Saarinen, enhance the ensemble.

The «Viena» armchair, designed in 2008 by Stefan Zwicky for Seledue, offers exceptional seating comfort.

The «Leisure Collection», designed in 1966 by Richard Schultz for Knoll, comprises a collection of weather-resistant, lightweight outdoor furniture.

«At the Swiss Embassy in Tel Aviv, we wanted to achieve maximum impact with minimal intervention: A warm grey tone on the walls, selectively augmented and re-upholstered furniture, as well as large-format photographs of iconic Swiss architecture and design objects, restore to the reception rooms the prestigious radiance they deserve.»
