Knoll International

Knoll International was founded in New York in 1938 and is among the most influential manufacturers of international modernism. The expansion into Europe began in 1951 with the founding of Knoll International Ltd. Celebrated pieces such as the «Barcelona Chair» (1929) by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe with its chromed flat steel frame and leather cushion, the «Tulip» series (1957) by Eero Saarinen with its central aluminium base, the «Womb Chair» (1948) by Eero Saarinen, and the «Florence Knoll Credenza» embody the industrial translation of architectural visions.

teo jakob was among the early providers of Knoll design classics in Switzerland. Leather qualities, fabrics and veneers are sampled in the material library. Seat heights, table diameters and proportions are reviewed and defined in the floor plan. Models like the «Barcelona Chair» or the «Tulip» tables can be configured and integrated into residential or office projects.
