Wittmann
Wittmann is an Austrian manufacturer from Etsdorf am Kamp and has been producing upholstered furniture in a tradition of craftsmanship since 1896. In collaboration with Josef Hoffmann, icons of Viennese Modernism emerged. «Purkersdorf» (1904) with a distinct cubic structure, the adjustable «Sitting Machine» (1905), the curved «Bat» chair (1907) and «Cube» (1910) featuring prominent button tufting. Solid wooden frames and hand-tied spring cores still characterise the construction today. Contemporary designers such as Jaime Hayon and Sebastian Herkner enrich the range with softer volumes and playful proportions.
