Working in a Comfortable Atmosphere

Open-plan office for an international financial services provider, designed to resemble an elegant residence: curtains, carpets, and lighting spatially separate the space and create a cosy working environment with a view of Lake Zurich.

In Zurich’s Seefeld, an open-plan office was created where curtains, carpets and lounge areas define distinct spaces and improve acoustics. Occhio «Mito» luminaires with adjustable light colour support focused work; consultation, sample selection and implementation were provided by teo jakob.

Floor-to-ceiling curtains function as acoustically active surfaces and reduce the reverberation time in the open-plan office. The Occhio «Mito» uses a ring-shaped LED module with finely dimmable colour temperature and sensor-controlled operation.

The «Eames Segmented Table», designed in 1964 by Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra in 1964, rests on a modular base that supports different table shapes and lengths.

The «Aluminium Chair EA 103» from 1958 is presented here with a leather-covered, tightly stretched seat between side pieces made of cast aluminium.

«Our task was clear: not to create an anonymous office environment in one of the most prestigious office areas on Lake Zurich, but to establish a kind of welcoming residence, in which clients and staff feel embraced from the moment they arrive – supported by tactile materials, harmonious textiles and a variety of places to work, meet and pause.»
