Flexible Furnishing

teo jakob developed a furnishing concept for the animal welfare centre of competence, Kompanima, in Winterthur that offers maximum flexibility. The furnishing supports seminars, workshops and conferences, while also independently blending into the distinctive wooden architecture.

In 2021, teo jakob designed a flexible furnishing concept for the animal welfare competence centre Kompanima in Winterthur for seminars and events. Stackable chairs and folding tables enable rapid reconfiguration, while dark green elements reference the theme of nature. Solid wooden furniture and the «Backenzahn» stool by e15 complement the timber architecture.

The «Moca» stackable chair, designed in 2010 by Konstantin Grcic (1965) for Vitra, is ideal for flexible seating in seminar and event rooms.

The «North» pendant lamp, designed by Philipp Mainzer (born in 1963) for e15, creates a distinct architectural lighting accent in copper and white.

The «Kiki» lounge chair, designed in 1960 by Ilmari Tapiovaara (1914–1999) for Artek, adds an understated and comfortable seating option to the interior.

The adjustable-height «Kitos» table from USM is combined with the «Egal» shelving unit by Nils Holger Moormann. The «Lampe Gras N°205» table lamps, designed in 1921 by Bernard Albin Gras (1886–1943) and now produced by DCW, provide functional task lighting.

«It was crucial to design a furnishing concept that can quickly adapt to different uses while complementing the architecture. With robust, long-lasting furniture, we were able to create spaces that accommodate seminars, informal meetings and events alike.»
