High-Quality Acoustic Solution

At the Merck Biotech Development Centre in Corsier-sur-Vevey, teo jakob realised a furnishing concept that balances openness and privacy. Mobile acoustic pods from Mute Design create protected spaces for meetings and telephone conversations. This creates a flexible working environment with a high level of comfort.

Around 250 people work at the Merck Biotech Development Centre in an open environment with flexible spaces for privacy. Acoustic pods by Mute enable focused work and meetings, with high sound insulation and good ventilation. Various sizes and mobile, high-quality models combine comfort and design.

The «Pods» spaces, produced by Mute Design, differ in size and features and can accommodate up to four people.

The «Space S» acoustic pod offers a quiet environment for individual work. The pods feature wheels recessed into their base and can be effortlessly positioned within the room, thus supporting flexible use.

The larger «Space L» pod creates space for meetings and creative collaboration. The pod is equipped with a custom-fit sofa, a sliding table top, quiet ventilation and occupancy sensors.

The pods are complemented by the «HAL RE» bar-stools, designed by Jasper Morrison (born in 1959). The seating shell is made from recycled plastic, whilst the seat cushion ensures comfortable seating.

The workstations are equipped with the adjustable-height «Ology Bench» desk and the «Gesture» office chair from Steelcase. The ergonomic set-up promotes movement, improves posture and can be modularly adapted to the space.
