Interior Design Concept with a Personal Touch

For a maisonette flat in Zollikon, a couple was looking for an interior that would connect the architecture with their personal lifestyle. Starting with a few select pieces, a holistic interior design concept by teo jakob gradually evolved.

The starting point was the desire for a few new pieces of furniture to complement the existing furnishings. A trusting collaboration developed through dialogue with the couple. The client’s clear vision and dedication were complemented by the planning expertise of teo jakob. The result is an urban, modern interior that fits the architecture of the house exactly as well as it does the individual lifestyle of the residents, supporting them in their everyday lives for years to come.

In the reading area, the «Grand Repos» armchair, designed by Antonio Citterio (born in 1950) for Vitra, invites relaxation with its deep seat and adjustable back-rest. The «Lato» side table, designed by Luca Nichetto (born in 1976) for &Tradition, serves as a surface for placing items.

The «Topoled S» standing lamp, designed by Rosmarie and Rico Baltensweiler for Baltensweiler, stands out for its precision lighting, technical sophistication and timeless aesthetic.

In the bedroom, the USM Haller shelving unit, designed by Fritz Haller (1924–2012) and Paul Schärer (1933–2011) for USM, provides clear organisation and flexible storage solutions.

The «Ribes» outdoor sofa, designed by Antonio Citterio (born in 1950) for B&B Italia, forms the centrepiece of one of the lounges in the garden. The «Salt & Pepper» portable table lamps, designed by Tobias Grau (1959–2023) for GRAU, provide atmospheric lighting in outdoor areas with warm, dimmable light.

«This project has evolved over the years. From initial individual pieces, a holistic interior design concept was developed in close dialogue with the clients. A clear attitude, strong commitment and mutual trust have given rise to an urban, modern living environment that connects the architecture and personal lifestyle.»
