Temporary accommodation

This old Zurich flat is designed to appeal to a wide range of personalities – yet it bears no resemblance whatsoever to a hotel.

It was not known at the time the contract was awarded who would eventually live in the newly renovated and refurbished rooms. The flat was designed to be let to individuals or couples for short periods. New floor structures ensure effective impact sound insulation. In the living areas, the herringbone pattern of the parquet flooring evokes the era in which the house was built. In the conservatory, cement tiles form a geometric pattern, emphasising the unique character of this space. The furnishings echo the colour scheme of existing and new surfaces, creating a warm atmosphere. Particular care has been taken in the choice of materials: solid wood tables can be refreshed later, whilst woven seats always look clean. The chairs and armchairs are also characterised by their light weight. Not only do they exude a sense of visual lightness, but they can also be easily rearranged as required.
