A room steeped in history

The Hotel & Bistro Pêle-Mêle is situated in a prime location in Bern’s old town, right on the banks of the green River Aare. It is a place with a character all of its own: lively, charming and deliberately unique.

teo jakob has furnished one of the rooms: ‘teo & jakob’. Furniture was selected from the warehouse and shop stock, from the exhibition and from the Second-Cycle collection. Pieces that were once part of other spaces – and now begin a new story here.

A Schramm bed meets furniture by Cassina, USM, ClassiCon and e15. Different designs, materials and traces come together to form a room that does not feel staged, but rather has evolved naturally: personal, high-quality and with an appreciation for what already exists.

The project demonstrates how timeless good design can be when it is not replaced, but carried forward.
