de Sede
de Sede was founded in 1965 as a saddlery in Klingnau, in the canton of Aargau, and is now one of Switzerland’s best-known international manufacturers of leather furniture. The brand became famous for its modular sofa systems, such as the DS-600 developed in 1972 by Ueli Berger, Eleonore Peduzzi Riva, Heinz Ulrich, Klaus Vogt and Alban Sousa, which is also known as the «Tatzelwurm» due to its serpentine shape. Equally influential is the DS-1025 «Terrazza» by Ubald Klug, whose stepped upholstery elements brought the landscape of the 1970s into the interior and later gained international recognition in music videos, fashion photography and film.
To this day, de Sede processes leather largely by hand and manufactures much of its furniture in Switzerland. teo jakob designs de Sede sofas and armchairs in various leather qualities and configurations, and samples materials directly in the showrooms so that furniture can be precisely tailored to the architecture and intended use.show moreshow less
