Girsberger

Girsberger was founded in Zurich in 1889 as a woodturning workshop and soon developed into a specialist in work and office chairs. As early as 1910, the company filed a patent for a height-adjustable studio and swivel stool, the mechanism of which later formed the basis for many office swivel chairs. From the 1930s onwards, Girsberger specialised in ergonomic seating for administrative offices, conference areas and workplaces, and later collaborated with designers such as Hannes Wettstein, Hans Eichenberger and Burkhard Vogtherr.

In parallel, the company produces large-format solid wood tables in Bützberg, Bern, made from oak, elm or walnut, in which natural growth features are deliberately left visible. teo jakob integrates Girsberger furniture into working environments and architectural projects where ergonomic working and precise woodworking are central.
