A breakthrough staircase

For the headquarters of migrolino Ltd in Suhr, teo jakob developed an interior architecture and conversion concept in 2018 centred around a striking staircase element. Through carefully selected materials, integrated lighting and newly defined communication areas, a contemporary workplace with a clear spatial identity was created.

For the administration building of migrolino Ltd in Suhr, teo jakob realised a conversion and interior design concept in 2018 aimed at expanding the existing office premises and improving circulation between floors. At the centre of the concept is a newly designed staircase, staged as the architectural focal point of the building through integrated lighting within the balustrade and ceiling. The materials chosen for the staircase deliberately contrast with the surrounding architecture, emphasising its role as a connecting element between offices, kitchen and communication zones. In addition to the staircase, teo jakob developed new shared spaces and extended the existing bar area to encourage interaction and informal exchange. Coloured tiles and carefully coordinated surfaces bring vibrancy and visual depth to the common areas, creating a workplace environment that combines functionality, orientation and architectural clarity.

The materiality of the staircase was deliberately set in contrast to its surroundings in order to emphasise the extension as the building’s central feature. The staircase serves as a flowing connection between employees in the offices, the kitchen and the communication areas.
