Restaurant Fischerstube

At Zürichhorn, the new Fischerstube emerged as a space uniting architecture, craftsmanship and the lakeside. teo jakob guided the furnishing of the restaurant interior, lounge and terrace.

In furnishing the space, the architectural firm Patrick Thurston and the client collaborated closely with teo jakob. Furniture was chosen that brings together functionality and atmosphere. The «Moser» chair by horgenglarus and the «Falling» lamp by Tobias Grau define the restaurant interior. On the terrace, Schaffner chairs and Weishäupl sunshades create a sense of lightness and comfort. This resulted in a restaurant that honours local history and perpetuates it in a contemporary way.

In the dining area of the Fischerstube, the «Falling» lamp, designed by Tobias Grau (1959–2023) for GRAU, and the «Moser» chair, designed by Werner Max Moser (1896–1970) for horgenglarus, shape the room’s character. They combine artisanal precision with clear lines and create a warm, inviting atmosphere.

On the terrace, the «Basic» sunshade, designed by Weishäupl Werkstätten for Weishäupl, and the «Säntis» chair, designed by Schaffner AG, create shade and an airy atmosphere right by the lake.

In the lounge, the «Falling» lamp, designed by Tobias Grau (1959–2023) for GRAU, is paired with seating by Rex Kralj. The interplay of wood, light, and clean lines creates a sanctuary of calm—a harmonious counterpart to the vibrant restaurant interior.

«At the Fischerstube, our aim was not to overshadow the architecture at Zürichhorn, but to strengthen it with carefully selected furnishings: The historic Landi style with timber construction and honeycomb ceiling meets the "Moser" chair by horgenglarus, lighting by Tobias Grau, and robust outdoor furniture – creating a restaurant that feels authentic, timeless and intimately connected to Lake Zurich.»
