Castle Burgdorf

For Burgdorf Castle, teo jakob developed a furnishing concept that respects the historic substance and provides new accessibility. High-quality, durable furniture and a bold colour scheme make the lobby, reception and restaurant a «castle for all».

A delicate touch was required at the medieval Burgdorf Castle. Through the architects Atelier G+S, Burgdorf, the castle was reimagined and developed into a youth hostel, museum and restaurant, thus becoming a «castle for all». teo jakob was responsible for the furnishing concept, with a clear emphasis on high quality and durability.

The «F/01 Flankenschnittstuhl» wooden chair with side cutouts, designed in 2015 by schindlersalmerón for schindlersalmerón, impresses with its clear design, artisanal precision and timeless restraint.

The «Mags» modular sofa, designed in 2007 by Anderssen & Voll – Torbjørn Anderssen (born in 1976) and Espen Voll (born in 1965) – for HAY, is complemented by the «Twist Stone» side table from Zeitraum and the «VIA57» lounge chair from Fritz Hansen to create a flexible, contemporary seating area.

The «VIA57» lounge chair, designed in 2016 by Bjarke Ingels (born in 1974) and Kibisi for Fritz Hansen, is combined with the «Twiggy» arc lamp, designed in 2006 by Marc Sadler (born in 1946) for Foscarini, and the «Twist Stone» side table, designed in 2013 by Formstelle.
