Instead of teaching for five years in rented temporary containers, a gymnasium at the Orpund secondary school centre was temporarily transformed into a learning laboratory. The building serves as an interim environment in which new teaching methods are tested and further developed. The insights gained from this process will be integrated into the planned expansion of the future educational competence centre. A large wooden structure organises the space into zones for teamwork, dialogue, individual study and library use. The development process was moderated by Solidfluid, who also designed and supervised the architectural concept. The furniture, material and colour concept was developed by Florian Hauswirth and Katia Ritz from Atelier RITZWIRTH. teo jakob contributed to the furniture concept development as well as the selection of fabrics and colours. The project demonstrates how spatial design and educational innovation can emerge through a productive dialogue.
