Design and ergonomics

For the Fondation Saphir retirement and nursing centre in Orbe, teo jakob developed a furnishing concept in 2021 that combines comfort, functionality and a welcoming atmosphere. Ergonomic furniture and carefully coordinated materials create living spaces with a high level of comfort for residents and staff alike.

The retirement and nursing centre of Fondation Saphir in Orbe, designed by MAK architecture SA, is characterised by light-filled spaces and a warm architectural atmosphere. Building on this architectural concept, teo jakob developed a furnishing concept in 2021 specifically tailored to the demands of the healthcare sector. Following an in-depth needs assessment, teo jakob selected furnishings that combine functionality, ergonomics and aesthetic quality.

In the corridors, conceived as places for communication and social interaction, an updated version of the Swoon Lounge Chair by Fredericia with removable textile covers provides comfort, support and hygienic practicality for everyday use.

«In healthcare environments, comfort, functionality and atmosphere are closely connected. Our goal was to create spaces through carefully selected furnishings that support everyday life while conveying a sense of wellbeing and security.»
