A Fresh Look

In 2022, teo jakob developed the furnishing concept for the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève. Tailor-made solutions, specially adapted seating and carefully coordinated materials create an elegant interior dedicated to music, learning and gathering.

For the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève, teo jakob developed a bespoke furnishing concept in 2022 together with GM Architectes Associés, responding to both the functional and architectural requirements of the historic building. Due to the strict fire safety regulations of the canton of Geneva and the specific needs of the music institution, numerous custom-made solutions were required. For the orchestra, the «Series 7™» chair by Fritz Hansen was structurally reinforced to provide additional stability, while special high-chair versions of the «Ant™» chair were developed for the cafeteria. The concept is complemented by the «Vuelta» armchair by Wittmann in blue velvet and the «Alleegasse» sofa, originally designed in 1912 for a music room. teo jakob accompanied the project from planning through to implementation, creating an atmospheric interior that combines functionality, comfort and musical identity.

In the cafeteria, the «Ant», chair, also by Jacobsen, is used in a unique high-back version. Jacobsen’s designs combine functional stability with artistic, musically inspired curves.

The «Vuelta» armchair, designed in 2020 by Jaime Hayon (1974) for Wittmann, introduces blue and pink colour accents while bringing Mediterranean-inspired elegance into the space.
